02 / Christmas party

Christmas parties in Copenhagen

How much does a DJ for a Christmas party in Copenhagen cost?

A DJ for a Christmas party – the Danish julefrokost – in Copenhagen costs from DKK 5,000 for 2 hours with sound and lights. Most Christmas parties go for 4 hours at DKK 6,000 or 6 hours at DKK 8,000, so the music runs from dinner all the way to the late-night snack.

How many hours should we book a DJ for our Christmas party?

For a classic Christmas party we recommend 4–6 hours. Many start with quiet background music during dinner and turn up the dancing after dessert. With 6 hours you're covered from the welcome drink until after midnight.

When should we book a DJ for our Christmas party?

Fridays and Saturdays in late November and all of December are the most sought-after nights in Copenhagen. Get in touch as soon as your date is set — then you're sure to get it.

Can the DJ play Christmas songs and sing-alongs?

Yes. We've got the Danish Christmas favourites, the international Christmas classics and the sing-alongs ready to go, and we can mix them with anything from '80s disco to recent pop when it's time to fill the floor.

Which areas of Copenhagen do you cover?

All of Copenhagen and Frederiksberg — the city centre, Vesterbro, Nørrebro, Østerbro, Amager, Valby, Nordhavn, Refshaleøen and Sydhavn — plus the rest of Greater Copenhagen. Return transport within 30 km of Copenhagen is included in the price. If your party is further away, just let us know and we'll arrange the travel.

Is transport included?

Yes. Return transport within 30 km of Copenhagen is included in the price — that covers all of Copenhagen, Frederiksberg and most of Greater Copenhagen.

Can we get photos and video from the Christmas party?

Yes. Add photo and social media video for DKK 1,200 per hour. You get photos from the night and short videos made for Instagram, LinkedIn and the intranet. The photos are delivered the next day in an online gallery, and you get the videos as a link.

03 / Pop-up

Pop-up stores

How much does a DJ for a pop-up store event cost?

From DKK 5,000 for 2 hours including sound and lights, which suits most launches and pop-up openings. With photo and social media video, 2 hours costs DKK 7,400. If you're open all afternoon, 4 hours costs DKK 6,000 and 6 hours DKK 8,000.

Can the music be tailored to our brand?

Yes, that's the whole idea. We go through your brand, audience and vibe beforehand and build a set that fits your world — from laid-back lounge to a full-on party after closing time.

Where should the DJ setup go?

We agree on placement and volume with you beforehand, so the setup fits into the store and customers can still talk and shop. We bring our own cables and extension leads.

Can you play during the day and during opening hours?

Yes. Lots of pop-up events take place in the daytime or just after closing. We adjust the volume and music to the time of day.

Do we get content for social media?

With the photo and social media video add-on (DKK 1,200 per hour) you get photos and short vertical videos for Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn. The photos are delivered the next day in an online gallery, and you get the videos as a link.

04 / Opening

Store openings

How much does a DJ for a store opening cost?

A DJ with sound and lights for a store opening costs DKK 5,000 for 2 hours and DKK 6,000 for 4 hours. With photo and social media video, the price is DKK 7,400 for 2 hours and DKK 10,800 for 4 hours.

How long should the DJ play at an opening?

Most store openings last 2–4 hours. That gives people time to drop by, leaves room for an opening speech and lets the atmosphere build.

How does the music fit around the opening speech?

We agree the running order beforehand. The DJ turns it down for the speech and back up once the ribbon is cut, so every transition lands.

Can the DJ set up outside the store?

Often, yes — if there's power and shelter, and if it's allowed at the location. Music at the entrance is a great way to pull passers-by inside. We're happy to help you work it out.

05 / Fashion

Fashion events

How much does a DJ for a fashion event cost?

A DJ with sound and lights for a fashion show, showroom event or in-store event costs DKK 5,000 for 2 hours, DKK 6,000 for 4 hours, DKK 8,000 for 6 hours and DKK 10,000 for 8 hours, incl. VAT. Photo and social media video cost an extra DKK 1,200 per hour.

Can the music follow a catwalk running order?

Yes. We go through the running order with you beforehand and agree when the music should change, so looks, entrances and the finale each get their own soundtrack.

Do you play during Copenhagen Fashion Week?

We'd love to play showroom events, press nights and afterparties during fashion week. Those dates get booked up fast, so get in touch early.

06 / Conference

Conference & AV

What can Wax Crew provide for a conference?

Sound and lights from our DJ package: music for arrivals, breaks and networking, lights for the stage and for the party afterwards. You can plug in your own laptop or phone too, e.g. for walk-on music or audio from a presentation. Tell us what your programme needs, and we'll tell you what we can cover.

How much do sound and a DJ for a conference cost?

DKK 5,000 for 2 hours, DKK 6,000 for 4 hours, DKK 8,000 for 6 hours and DKK 10,000 for 8 hours, incl. VAT, setup and transport within 30 km of Copenhagen.

Can you also run the party after the conference?

Yes. Many choose to leave the same system in place, so the afternoon networking music turns into a proper party in the evening — with no extra setup.

07 / Live

Bands, live & concerts

Can you DJ before and after a band?

Yes. We warm up before the gig, play during the breaks and keep going after the last encore, so it's never silent and the dance floor stays full.

Can the band use your sound system?

That depends on the line-up. Send us a list of instruments and what the band is bringing, and we'll assess whether our system fits — or whether the band should bring its own.

Can a guest play from their own DJ decks?

Yes. A guest can play from their own DJ decks, laptop or phone through our system — for example a live set or a surprise act.

08 / Practical

Practical stuff

Where does Wax Crew play?

We're based in Copenhagen and mainly play in Copenhagen, Frederiksberg and Greater Copenhagen. We're happy to arrange events on the rest of Zealand and elsewhere in Denmark.

Can we choose the music ourselves?

Yes. Send us your requests, genres and a do-not-play list. Guests can also make requests on the night.

What do we need to provide at the venue?

Room for the DJ, speakers and lights, plus access to ordinary power sockets. We bring our own cables and extension leads, and we agree the placement with you or the venue beforehand.

When does the DJ arrive?

The gear is set up and tested no later than 45 minutes before kick-off, so everything is ready before your guests arrive. Setup and pack-down are not part of the paid playing hours — you only pay for actual playing time.

Can we play music from our own phone or laptop?

Yes. You can plug a phone or laptop into the system — e.g. for background music during dinner or for one special song — and a guest can also play from their own DJ decks.

How many guests is the package suited for?

The sound and lights in the package are sized for parties and events with up to 150 guests. If there are more of you, get in touch and we'll find a solution.

What happens if the DJ gets ill?

Every booking comes with an illness guarantee and a delivery guarantee: if your DJ falls ill, we send another experienced DJ so the party goes ahead as planned.

How do we contact you?
