Vinyl DJ
It's why we're called Wax Crew. We started out on vinyl — wax, as record collectors say — and records are still part of how we play. There's something about the sound, the ritual and the crates that can't be copied.
Why vinyl?
When a DJ plays from records, guests can watch the music being made: the record pulled from the crate, the needle dropping and the mix done by hand. It brings a different kind of attention to the dance floor — and a sound with warmth.
Records and digital
These days we play from both records and digital. The approach is the same: every track is chosen with care, and no two nights are alike. Want a set built on vinyl? Mention it when you book, and we'll plan it together.
What we play
Vinyl works especially well for disco & funk, house and hip-hop & R&B — but check out all the genres we play.
Questions about vinyl
Can we choose the music ourselves?
Yes. Send us your must-play songs, the genres you love and a do-not-play list. Guests can also make requests on the night.
How much does a DJ cost in Copenhagen?
At Wax Crew, a DJ with sound system and lights costs DKK 5,000 for 2 hours, DKK 6,000 for 4 hours, DKK 8,000 for 6 hours and DKK 10,000 for 8 hours. Photo and social media video can be added for DKK 1,200 per hour.
